Permits & Procedures
The Lafayette Entertainment Initiative is ready to answer any inquiries you have about permits, procedures and regulations involved with filming in our area. We strongly encourage you to contact us if you are looking to shoot in the Lafayette area, so that we may offer assistance in answering your inquiries.

Shooting in Lafayette: While there is no blanket permit required for shooting a project in the city, there are certain situations that require special permission such as road closures and scenes involving explosions/pyrotechnics.
- The Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) requests that the property owners / residents whose property is contiguous to a public area sought to be closed for the purpose of entertainment content production be notified.
- download and complete the LCG Street Closure Permit Application.
- Download and complete the LCG Proposed Entertainment Production Permit and petition notifying residents of road closure activity.
- If you have any questions regarding submission of Road Closure forms or if you need special assistance with road closures please contact the LEI office.
Forms:
- Non-Resident/Part-Time Income Tax
- A tax is levied on all non-residents who have income earned in or derived from Louisiana sources.

- Vehicle Registration for Incoming Productions
- If you are planning on bringing trucks or production vehicles when coming to the state to film, please download and complete this form.
- Declaration of Louisiana Residency
- Film production companies claiming a tax credit based on wages or salaries paid to Louisiana residents to work on a film produced in Louisiana must have each such employee complete this declaration of residency.

- Child Labor Policies
- All persons under 16 years of age must have permission from the Louisiana Department of Labor to work in the State of Louisiana.
