On behalf of our City-Parish President, Joey Durel, we’d like to thank you for giving us an opportunity to share with you our unique community. With assistance from Louisiana Economic Development and local stakeholders, Lafayette, Louisiana is championing the entertainment industry resources of the Acadiana region – an economic district in the heart of Louisiana.

Thanks to our state’s aggressive entertainment tax incentive programs begun in 2002, Louisiana has become a leader, second only to California and New York in production activity in the US. As an actor, producer, and business owner with years of motion picture and video game production experience, I am proud to call Lafayette home.

Positioned at the intersection of two major highways connecting North to South and East to West, Lafayette, Louisiana is an ideal community for productions and service companies to ‘set up shop’ to access everything and respond to the needs of the statewide entertainment industry. With an impressive success rate, the Lafayette Entertainment Initiative was created with the mission of providing concierge-style service while sharing our next-generation infrastructure with the global entertainment industry: One of the largest municipality-owned, fiber-optically connected communities in the United States. One of the most advanced publicly owned, 3D immersive technology and super-computing environments in the world. One of the most renowned entertainment-related, workforce education and training infrastructures in the state.

By coupling these forward-thinking resources with our online systems for scouting locations, accessing labor pools and other physical as well as virtual production infrastructure, we successfully service the industry today, with an eye on anticipating the needs of the creative industries tomorrow.
